Lynx Distributor
The Lynx Distributor is a modular DC busbar with locations for four DC fuses. It monitors the status of each fuse and displays its condition using LED indicators on the front panel. The Lynx Distributor is part of the modular Lynx Distribution System.
DC Distribution and Connections
The Lynx Distributor contains both a positive and negative busbar and provides connections for four individual DC equipment circuits, loads, or DC groups. Each DC group has space for its own individual DC fuse.
Fuse Monitoring and Power Requirement
An optional feature of the Lynx Distributor is an LED indicator for each fuse, which shows whether a fuse is intact or blown.
To enable the fuse indication LEDs, the Lynx Distributor must be connected to a Lynx Shunt. The Lynx Shunt supplies the required wide input voltage (8–70 VDC) and outputs the necessary 5 V (4.5–5.5 V) power required by the Lynx Distributor circuit board.
Connection to Lynx Shunt
RJ11 fly leads are used to connect the Lynx Distributor to the Lynx Shunt. The required RJ11 cable is supplied in the box with the Distributor. The Lynx Shunt has two RJ11 ports, and either port can be used.
LED Status Indication
Normal operation: Only the central LED is illuminated green
Blown or missing fuse: The central LED and the affected fuse LED illuminate red
If not all DC distribution connection points are in use, dummy fuses may be required to prevent red LED warnings from appearing.
